Elbow trunnion support types developed by Autodesk (Dummy and Stanchion type) are limited to use, since there are a lot of type of trunnion supports attached to elbow such as Anchor, Adjustable, Guide, Rest, or combination of those.
When modeling trunnion/stanchion supports default from Autodesk, the connection point of support to elbow is not at the center of elbow.
Consequently, in isometric drawing the trunnion support is not in the correct position.
At Pbtechnic, we have utilized Python language to revamp the symbol for Elbow Trunnion support. This updated Python support symbol ensures that the support connection point aligns perfectly with the center point of the elbow when inserted into the model.
When extracting isometric drawing, the trunnion support is correctly positioned at the center point of the elbow.
Some modification points:
The Trunnion Length is measured from the Bottom of the Pipe
Provide a comprehensive standard type for the Base Plate
Cradle block option available for pipelines with cold insulation services
